'The Wallops have grown along the Wallop Brook, this beautiful chalk stream which flows into the River Test. N.B. When CP last visited Nether Wallop in the 1990s, the river was drier than ever before - too much is being taken out for irrigation and watering of farm animals. No longer are the river trout so abundant, nor the water voles and other wonderful creatures that inhabited the banks in profusion in the 1950s and 1960s. |
