Answers to Rules questions - Q22 |

Idea by Clive Pollard |
The question is : Q22 - During a rally, the player's safety glasses fall to the floor. Both players continue with the rally, until at some point in the rally, player, as striker, stops play and asks for a let in the interest of safety. |

Your decision was |
Stroke to opponent |
This is correct - well done !! |
||
Reason |
A player letting any object (except the racket) fall to the floor of the court loses the rally - see Rule 7.7. When the player let the glasses fall to the floor, the Referee (if noticing this - how could it go unnoticed ?) must stop play. In an un-refereed match, the safety of the opponent should be first in the player's mind - the player must stop play immediately.
