| NORMAN WILLIAM JOHN YOUNG was bom on 24
October 1916 in Tuatapere of parents Ernest
John and Ethel May
(Grey) Young. He married Joyce Ester Spence in Invercargill on 14 March 1940. Norman worked as a storeman in the grocery business before joining the Nursery firm of H.S. Young Ltd. A keen sportsman and lover of music, playing the piano accordion, very professionally. Norman lost his life in the Pacific Zone during World War II on 1 October 1943. Norman and Joyce had two children - Trevor was bom on 21 September 1941, but died when less than a year old on 8 August 1942 (from what ?) and Barry Charles, who was born on 24 June 1943. What happened to Joyce ? |
