| NANCY GERTRUDE YOUNG, second oldest daughter
of Robert Stanley
and Louise Gertrude (Shirley) Young, was bom at
Riverton on 4 August 1922. She attained proficiency at
Orepuki Primary then worked at the Tuatapere Maternity
Hospital. She began playing in Dance Bands at the age of
16, and is still playing for functions in Timaru along
with her band called Nan McLister's Trio. She married Alan Hugh McLister in Invercargill on 25 November 1946. They have enjoyed a full life of activities, in various occupations, including a transport business in Winton, where they both drove trucks. They have 4 children - David Stanley was born on 20 September 1948 (where ?), Shirley Louise was born on 26 September 1949 (where ?), Brian Hugh was born on 13 November 1950 (where ?) and Gordon James was born on 26 September 1953 (where ?), who all have had the advantage of living in the rural areas as well as city life. Since retirement, Nan has worked in the Music Shop of Newmans, Timaru and is at present demonstrating and selling Electronic Organs. Their present address is ? North Street, Timaru. |
