| JESSIE HARRIET YOUNG was born on 30 August
1912 to parents James
Aitken and Elizabeth
Young. She attended primary school at Papatotara and
received her secondary schooling at Southland Technical
College. She was a good sportswoman, representing Waiau
at basketball and tennis. Before her marriage she helped
her mother at home and also worked as a shop assistant. On 15 March 1944 Jessie married Albert Edward Whyte (where ?) and they have two daughters - Elizabeth Anne was born on 13 March 1945 (where ?)and Jennifer Jessie was born on 9 March 1947 (where ?). Jessie and Albert live at 63A Antrim Street, Invercargill. |
