| ERNEST GARTH YOUNG was born on 16 October
1956 in Tuatapere to parents Mervyn
William and Jean (Hogg)
Young. He attended primary school at Orepuki, Tweedsmuir
Intermediate and Southland Boys High School. After
graduating from Otago University, he became a school
teacher and then moved into social work. Garth married Linda Kay Cubis, who worked for the National Bank NZ, (when? where ?) in 1977 and they had three children - Sarah Emily was born on 22 December -1978 (where ?), Anna Elizabeth was born on 18 May 1981 (where ?) and Katherine Louise was born on 20 July 1985 (where ?). Garth and Linda divorced in 1997. Garth then married Cathryn Frances Usher on 15 March 2002 (where?) and they have two children - Joshua William Dalkeith (born 6 February 2005 - where?) and Sophie Jean Willis (born 20 December 2006 where?). Garth still works as a senior social worker in Wellington. Current address: 3 Winston Street, Wellington.
