| EDITH ELLEN YOUNG was bom on 13 October 1949
at Tuatapere of parents James
Owen and Ellen Mary
(King) Young. She attended Pahia Primary, where she was
Dux in 1962 (an honour also held by her mother and
father), and Southland Girls High School. She went then
to Otago Polytechnic and worked as a Laboratory
Technician at Otago Home Science school, and on to Otago
Medical School. She married Kenneth Alan Joyce at Orepuki on 28 February 1970. Ken works as an overseer with Telecom. Edith and Ken have three children - Nicole Ellen bom 23 October 1974, Michael Ken bom 7 February 1977 and Janelle Louise bom 14 July 1980. Edith now works part-time at O.B.H.S. and is keen on gardening and handcrafts. Their current address is 16 Ettrick Street, Dunedin. |
