| ALBERT STANLEY YOUNG (Bert) was bom on 7 May
1914 to parents William and Mary
Elizabeth (George) Young. Bert was educated at Tuatapere
and St Grorge Invercargill. He worked on a farm in his
early years, and was a civil servant on the NZ Railways,
before joining his uncle's firm of H.S.
Young Ltd.. working in the Esk Street nursery shop for
many years. He married Mildred Adeline Rose Daniel (Millie) on 9 April 1938 in Riverton. He was well know for his cheery and obliging personality, and he and Millie had two children - son Errol Ernest Stanley was born on 9 November 1939 (where ?) and daughter Yvonne Marie was born on 24 August 1943 (where ?). Bert passed away on ?? and Millie now lives on in retirement at 31 Leith Street Invercargill, enjoying her garden and her grand- and great-grandchildren. |
